"For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7
At Corazón Ministries, summer is filled with outreach events, construction projects, and opportunities to serve throughout South Tucson. This year, we had the privilege of hosting three mission teams from Los Angeles and Chino, California; Dallas, Texas; and Montreal, Canada. While each team came from a different place, they all shared a willingness to follow where God was leading.
One story especially stood out to me. Sam first served as a student with Corazón Ministries during Summer Missions in 2006. Twenty years later, he returned—not by himself, but as a youth pastor, bringing members of his church on their first mission trip. What began as a step of faith years ago has now inspired others to step out and serve as well.
His story reflected what we saw throughout the summer. Many team members shared how God had led them to serve, even when it meant sacrifice or stepping into the unknown. For several, this was their first mission trip to Tucson.
Throughout the week, we watched children fill our outreach sports camps, local pastors and churches receive encouragement, construction projects move forward, and, most importantly, people hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As the summer comes to a close, I'm reminded that ministry moves forward because people are willing to take a step of faith, and God is always faithful in their obedience. This season was filled with those moments, and it was a privilege to witness them.
