Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. - 2 Corinthians 5:20
“Welcome to Corazón Ministries”. Each week, Mike, I, and our staff marvel at the many new friends God brings through our doors. Most come seeking spiritual guidance to help with challenges in their lives. Some are believers. Some are not. We do our utmost to listen to every story and trust the Spirit to use us to speak life to every heart. These God-appointed connections are a joy. Mike’s executive assistant, Liz Hernandez, shared this story:
“On a Sunday, I met up with my friend, whom I met through a Corazón Ministries women’s event, for raspados. We were chatting when an acquaintance walked into the shop. It turned out that my friend used to work with her. We discovered that she had attended Women of Heart in 2024. She, too, was meeting a friend. When her friend arrived and learned that I work at Corazón, she shared that when she was having marital problems, someone had referred her to the Ministry. Recently, her daughter called needing marriage counseling, so she suggested Corazón to her. I gave her more details; we exchanged phone numbers in hopes that her daughter will make an appointment.”
God continues to open doors in unexpected ways, using relationships and everyday conversations to connect people with Corazón Ministries and opportunities to experience the hope of Christ. Here are a few testimonies of how He is working through Corazón.
One of our women’s Bible study leaders called with good news. A woman in her study invited a neighbor who was seeking something more from her life, but didn’t know exactly what. She found Jesus in God’s word, and her life has new purpose.
A man who attends Mike’s Bible study brought his brother, who made an appointment to see Mike with his fiancée. After hearing their story, Mike shared the Gospel. The woman invited Christ into her life and left the office with new hope.
A young woman, a new believer and member of my 20 Somethings Breakfast Club, brought her fiancé to meet me and Mike. He grew up as a Jehovah’s Witness. Through our premarital classes, God opened his heart to Jesus. He came to faith and now wants a Christ-centered marriage and home for their future children.
Our call is clear. We are to love well in the name of Jesus. We share the hope of the Gospel and encourage growing faith from the Scriptures. We praise God for the privilege to witness His hand in the lives of the people He connects to Corazón and brings into the Kingdom.
